About us
Wigan GP Alliance have delivered Extended Access services (patients can see a GP or other clinicians at times when GP Practices are closed) since 2015. We now support PCNs and Practices in delivering the additional Enhanced Access appointments booked through Practices for appointments during evenings and weekends. The Alliance also provided the ‘Hot Hubs’ during the Covid pandemic whilst also providing the Borough with a centralised call centre to phone to book local appointments. We work with the Trust to support the Out of Hours service, and provide outreach activities to provide Primary Care to those in the Borough that do not have access to their GP Practice.
